From the exhibitors’ and participants’ perspectives, the JCK 2022 diamond and jewelry expo, held at the Venetian Convention & Expo Center in Las Vegas, between the 10th to the 13th of June, was a huge success.
After a lengthy break from exhibitions due to covid, both exhibitors and attendees returned with a vengeance. There was a lot going on, and you could sense and see people’s excitement as they connected, did business, or simply expanded their network.
George Marakis, our Global Sales Director, met with existing and new clients. George was delighted to meet up with old acquaintances and spent his time making new contacts and promoting our latest solutions for the diamond and jewelry industry.
George participated in the breakfast event held by Rapaport. Martin Rapaport’s speech included information on the state of the diamond industry and went on to give his perspective on the difference between ethical and legal practices when sourcing diamonds. He stressed the industry’s ongoing usage of blood diamonds and requested that the WDC abandon the KP certification, as this is how governments make and launder millions of dollars from the sale of KP-certified blood diamonds.
